My passion for food began when I was a small child in India and continues to play a major part in my life and the rituals of my family. From harvest time at my grandfather’s farm in India, to cooking with my granddaughter today, the possibilities of food continue to excite and inspire me.
I wanted to turn my passion for food into a business. I started my own Indian foods company in 1986 from humble beginnings in my home kitchen and it has grown to become one of the biggest suppliers of ethnic foods to major UK supermarkets and is a business I’m very proud of.
Indian food will always be my first love. The colours, textures, smells and ingredients are a treasure trove of tastes and never fail to inspire my palate. This passion is infused in all my products which are made to help people cook authentic Indian dishes quickly and simply in their own home.
Discussing what’s for dinner is a regular conversation across households in Britain and I appreciate how difficult it can be to come up with meal ideas each day. In my own family food is a major part of our lives but I appreciate that the pressures of modern life mean we don’t always have the time to think of new things or cook from scratch.
This website is designed to help inspire you with new recipes for dinner. Staying true to my heritage but also experimenting with other dishes to create an Indian twist on the classic food we enjoy for dinner in the UK.
I’m keen to hear from you about the food you love to cook so please send me your recipes and comments. Don’t forget you can join the ‘What’s For Dinner?’ community on facebook and keep up-to-date via Twitter too. Let’s spice up dinner!
